TIAMIN RICE: Building Nigeria’s Agricultural Future, One Grain at a Time
TIAMIN Rice Limited continues to stand out as an important name in Nigeria’s agricultural and rice-processing sector, combining mechanised farming, modern processing and value-chain development to strengthen local food production.
From its operations in Kano to its major agricultural investment in Udubo, Gamawa Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Tiamin Rice has continued to demonstrate the scale and ambition required to build a stronger agricultural economy.
One of the company’s major agricultural projects is its 10,000-hectare irrigation farm in Bauchi State, developed with financing support involving Jaiz Bank and the Private Sector-Led Accelerated Agriculture Development Scheme. The project represents a significant investment in large-scale commercial agriculture.
Tiamin has also expanded its rice-processing capacity. Reports have documented combined processing capacity of about 920 metric tonnes per day across its Kano and Bauchi operations, positioning the company among the significant players in Nigeria’s rice-processing industry.
Beyond production, the company’s story is also about jobs, farmers, technology, food security and local value creation. Its investment model connects farming with processing and packaging, helping to create a more integrated agricultural value chain.
For Nigeria, the significance goes beyond the rice on the dining table. It is about building the capacity to produce more locally, process more efficiently and create opportunities across the agricultural ecosystem.
