Kwairanga Celebrates Issuing Houses of Nigeria at 30th Anniversary, Commends Capital Market Contributions
The Group Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group), Alhaji (Dr.) Umaru Kwairanga, has congratulated the Association of Issuing Houses of Nigeria (AIHN) on its 30th anniversary, commending the association for its significant contributions to Nigeria’s capital market and economic development.
Kwairanga gave the commendation on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, in Lagos, while delivering a goodwill message at the 30th Anniversary Awards Night and Dinner of the Association of Issuing Houses of Nigeria.
He described the anniversary as a significant milestone, noting that the three decades of the association’s existence had coincided with the mobilisation of substantial funds for the Federal Government, sub-national governments and corporate organisations across the country.
According to him, members of the association have played a leading role in major capital-raising exercises, particularly those that supported the recapitalisation of banks and insurance companies and enabled governments at various levels to pursue their governance and development objectives.
> “On a regular basis, you raise funds that keep companies and the economy running and your impact cannot be underestimated,” Kwairanga said.
The NGX Group Chairman further acknowledged the strategic importance of the Association of Issuing Houses of Nigeria to the development of the Nigerian capital market.
He said the Nigerian Exchange Group recognised the important role played by issuing houses and remained committed to strengthening collaboration with the association in advancing the growth, efficiency and development of the capital market.
“As an organisation, the Nigerian Exchange Group recognises the important role that the Association of Issuing Houses of Nigeria plays in the capital market and its positive impact on our Exchange, and we are always open to partnering with you in the development of the capital market,” he stated.
Kwairanga also congratulated individuals, organisations and members who were honoured during the anniversary celebration for their outstanding contributions to the association and the wider financial sector.
He described the awards as an opportunity to recognise those who had distinguished themselves through their service and contributions to the growth of the industry, while urging the award recipients to continue building on their achievements.
The NGX Group Chairman concluded by congratulating the Association of Issuing Houses of Nigeria once again on its 30th anniversary and wished guests and participants an enjoyable evening.
