US-Nigeria Partnership Critical for Investment, Food Security, Sports Development — Dr. Umaru Kwairanga

The Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group), Alh. (Dr.) Umaru Kwairanga, has emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between Nigeria and the United States in key sectors such as investment, security, food security, trade, and sports.


Speaking at a breakfast meeting organized by the US-Nigeria Council, Dr. Kwairanga described both countries as influential nations within their respective spheres, noting that Nigeria plays a leading role on the African continent just as the United States remains a major global power.


According to him, the two nations share similarities, including their large populations, innovative spirit, and the drive of their people to create opportunities and contribute to economic growth.


Dr. Kwairanga stated that Nigeria and the United States can learn from one another and build stronger partnerships in areas such as security, investment, and sports. He commended stakeholders working to advance bilateral cooperation and expressed confidence that the forum would further deepen relations between both countries.


He noted that discussions at the meeting were expected to enhance collaboration in trade and investment, food security, and sports development, all of which are critical to sustainable economic growth and prosperity.


The NGX Group Chairman further reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Exchange Group to initiatives that promote investment in Nigeria and create value for listed companies. He stressed the importance of building lasting connections between Nigerian and American private sector players to unlock new opportunities for growth and development.


Dr. Kwairanga concluded by expressing appreciation to the organizers of the event and wished participants fruitful engagements and rewarding interactions.


The engagement reflects ongoing efforts by public and private sector leaders to strengthen economic ties between Nigeria and the United States while fostering partnerships capable of driving innovation, investment, and shared prosperity.
