THE BALA WUNTI OF ALL TIME — THE MAN WHO ALWAYS HAS A NEW STORY TO TELL

 By Umar Umb

There are personalities whose names make the news, and there are those whose actions continually create new stories. Bala Maijama’a Wunti belongs to the latter.

As the Chief Executive Officer of World Energy Council Nigeria, Bala Wunti now stands at the centre of Nigeria’s engagement with the global energy conversation. The World Energy Council officially announced Nigeria’s new Member Committee in August 2026, with Wunti serving as its CEO.

But beyond the boardrooms and the energy sector, another side of Bala Wunti continues to attract attention—his commitment to social impact through the Wunti Al-Khair Foundation, where his vision has been associated with initiatives touching lives and creating opportunities.

That is why the name Bala Wunti continues to generate a new story almost every time.

One moment, it is leadership in the energy sector. Another moment, it is a new initiative, a new idea, a new intervention or another development that gets people talking.

This is the Bala Wunti of all time—a man who seems to always arrive with something new.

His story is not simply about where he has been; it is increasingly about what comes next.

And perhaps that is what makes his journey fascinating: when you think the story is complete, Bala Wunti brings another chapter.

A new day. A new idea. A new development. A new story.

That is Bala Wunti.
