A TRIBUTE TO AMB. HALIMA SULAIMAN ZAKARI

In politics, not every outcome reflects the full measure of a person’s ability, character, or contribution. Sometimes, political decisions take a different direction, but that should never diminish the dignity and worth of an individual who has offered themselves for public service.

The recent outcome regarding the APC senatorial ticket for Jigawa Central may not have been the outcome many of Amb. Halima Sulaiman Zakari’s supporters had hoped for. Nevertheless, her response to the situation deserves respect, recognition and commendation.

Her willingness to accept the decision with maturity and continue to uphold the values of loyalty, peace and unity demonstrates an important quality of leadership.

Public service is ultimately about the people, and the desire to serve should not be measured only by whether one secures a particular position. Leadership is also reflected in character, patience, humility and the ability to remain committed to the greater good even when circumstances do not go as expected.

Amb. Halima Sulaiman Zakari has shown that political ambition can be pursued with dignity and that disappointment can be handled with grace.

For the people of Jigawa Central, this moment should not be viewed through the lens of division, but as an opportunity to appreciate every individual who is willing to contribute to the development and progress of the constituency.

And for Amb. Halima, this is certainly not the end of the road. Political opportunities may change, but the opportunity to serve humanity remains. There will always be other avenues through which her experience, vision and commitment can continue to benefit society.

May Allah continue to grant her wisdom, strength and good health, and may He guide all leaders and stakeholders toward decisions that promote peace, unity, development and the wellbeing of the people.

Positions are temporary, but character is lasting.

Political outcomes may change, but genuine commitment to service remains valuable.

With utmost respect, I wish Amb. Halima Sulaiman Zakari continued success and greater opportunities to contribute to the progress of Jigawa State and Nigeria.
