23 Days of Leadership: Abubakar Ahmed Takes Charge as Substantive Head of Nursing Services at FMC Birnin Kudu


 


In just 23 days, Mr. Abubakar Ahmed has officially spent his first days in office as the Substantive Head of Nursing Services Department, Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Birnin Kudu, Jigawa State, following his appointment with effect from 1st September 2026.


His appointment, approved by the Hospital Management, is for an initial period of two years and is renewable subject to satisfactory performance.


As the new Head of Nursing Services, Mr. Abubakar Ahmed is entrusted with the responsibility of providing professional leadership and coordinating nursing services to support quality patient care across the Centre.


Within these first 23 days, his assumption of office represents the beginning of a new phase of responsibility, with expectations for effective coordination, professionalism, discipline, teamwork and continued improvement in nursing services.


The appointment letter also directs him to observe due process and the Code of Ethics in the discharge of his duties—principles that remain essential to effective nursing administration and quality healthcare delivery.


As he continues in this important responsibility, his leadership is expected to contribute to the strengthening of nursing services, staff coordination and the overall healthcare objectives of FMC Birnin Kudu.


23 days in office — a new responsibility, a new chapter, and a renewed opportunity to serve.
