2027: Sokoto East Needs a Voice of Experience — Ajiyan Sokoto, Dr. Umaru Ajiya Isa

Sokoto East is entering another important political season, and the 2027 Senate election presents an opportunity for citizens to carefully consider the experience, priorities and public record of those seeking to represent the district.


Dr. Umaru Ajiya Isa, popularly known as Ajiyan Sokoto, is a former Chief Financial Officer of NNPCL who has emerged as the APC candidate for Sokoto East. Reports on his candidacy highlight his professional background in public finance and his stated priorities around security, education, employment and equitable development. 


Ajiya has also publicly spoken about the need for stronger security measures and better accountability in the use of funds allocated to security. 


As 2027 approaches, the people of Sokoto East can examine these records and his stated agenda as they make their own decision at the ballot box.
