Aliyu Bin Abbas Welcomes National Peace Accord, Reaffirms Commitment to Issue-Based Politics

Insight Tribune News — The Presidential Candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Amb. Aliyu Bin Abbas, has welcomed the National Peace Committee’s invitation to participate in the First National Peace Accord ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
In a statement issued in Abuja, Amb. Aliyu Bin Abbas expressed his appreciation to the National Peace Committee, under the leadership of former Head of State, His Excellency General Abdulsalami A. Abubakar, GCFR, for initiating a platform dedicated to promoting peaceful and responsible political engagement.
He noted that the initiative comes at a critical time when Nigeria continues to face challenges including insecurity, political violence, hate speech and increasing social and political divisions.
According to him, the Peace Accord provides an important opportunity for political actors to demonstrate responsibility and place the unity, peace and progress of Nigeria above partisan interests.
As the country moves closer to the 2027 General Elections, Amb. Aliyu Bin Abbas stressed the need for Nigerians to look beyond personality-driven politics and support leadership capable of responding to the realities and aspirations of a new generation.
He advocated for a younger, visionary and digitally driven leadership that can harness technology, strengthen national security, promote economic prosperity and build a more united Nigeria.
The ADP presidential candidate reaffirmed his commitment to peaceful, credible and issue-based politics, emphasizing that political competition should be conducted with respect for democratic values and the interests of the Nigerian people.
He further expressed his readiness to participate in the National Peace Accord and contribute positively to efforts aimed at ensuring peaceful and credible elections in 2027.
Amb. Aliyu Bin Abbas’ position reinforces his call for a new political direction centred on peace, accountability, innovation, national unity and responsible leadership as Nigerians prepare for the next electoral cycle.
