HON. DALEN KUMSWA TAKES CONSULTATION TO THE GRASSROOTS, BEGINS HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES JOURNEY FROM GAMANKAI
Gamankai, Langtang South — In a move that underscores the importance of grassroots democracy and people-centered leadership, Hon. Dalen Kumswa has officially launched wide-ranging consultations in his home ward of Gamankai ahead of his bid for the Langtang North/Langtang South Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
The gathering brought together respected elders, community leaders, political stakeholders, youth representatives, and women groups in what many described as the first major step in a campaign built on consultation, inclusion, and direct engagement with the people.
Addressing the audience, Kumswa said leadership must remain connected to the people and their realities, stressing that any genuine quest for public office should begin with those who understand the challenges and aspirations of the constituency firsthand.
He praised community elders for their guidance and enduring commitment to peace and progress, while acknowledging the critical role of stakeholders in shaping the political and developmental future of the constituency.
The aspiring lawmaker also placed strong emphasis on youth participation, describing young people as the driving force behind democratic growth and sustainable development. He called on them to remain active participants in the political process and partners in building a brighter future for the constituency.
Women were equally recognized as indispensable pillars of community development and political success. Kumswa noted that their support, wisdom, and organizational strength would remain vital in advancing a movement focused on service, representation, and collective progress.
By choosing to begin his consultations in Gamankai, his ancestral and political home, Kumswa sent a clear message about his leadership philosophy—one rooted in accountability, accessibility, and respect for grassroots structures. Rather than launching his ambition from political centers of influence, he opted to seek the blessing, counsel, and support of the people who know him best.
Observers say the consultation signals the emergence of a constituency-wide movement focused on responsive representation, unity, and development. The engagement also reflects a strategic effort to build momentum from the grassroots upward, ensuring that community voices remain central to the campaign.
With the Gamankai consultation setting the tone, Hon. Dalen Kumswa is expected to continue engagements across Langtang North and Langtang South, meeting stakeholders and residents as he presents his vision for effective representation and inclusive development.
As the political atmosphere begins to gather pace, Kumswa's grassroots-first approach is already drawing attention as a model of participatory politics—one that places the people at the heart of the journey from the very beginning.
