As Nigerians mark one year since the demise of former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti has joined countless citizens at home and abroad in remembering the life, service, and contributions of a man who devoted a significant part of his life to the nation.

The late President Buhari occupied a unique place in Nigeria’s history, having served the country both as a military leader and later as a democratically elected President. Throughout his years in public service, he remained known for his firm convictions, personal discipline, and commitment to national unity.

Dr. Wunti noted that leadership is ultimately measured by the impact it leaves on society, and that former President Buhari’s years of service will continue to be discussed and studied by future generations seeking to understand Nigeria’s political and democratic journey.

He called on Nigerians to use the occasion of the anniversary to pray for the departed leader and to embrace values that promote national development, peaceful coexistence, honesty, patriotism, and dedication to the common good.

According to Dr. Wunti, moments such as this remind citizens of the importance of placing the interests of the nation above personal considerations and working collectively towards a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.

He prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants the late President Muhammadu Buhari eternal mercy, forgives his shortcomings, accepts his good deeds, and admits him into Aljannatul Firdaus. He also prayed for strength and comfort for the Buhari family and all Nigerians who continue to remember him with respect and affection.
